I found that it was really difficult to make the correct colors that matched the photo. I also think that at some times it was really hard to control the brush and get the correct stroke. I also don't like how watercolor can bleed through paper, and when doing a watercolor piece and is little to no chance of making a mistake because you probably will not be able to fix it. By: lily lovejoy-johnsonQuestions: 1.) I learned how to create a gradient, like shading with black, white and another color. I also learned how to mix different colors to make a new solid color. It was really helpful learning how to use different textures to make a piece better. 2.) I think the gradient and the tint, shade, and tone warm ups helped me the most. These warm ups helped me very much because I will have to shade and make many neutral tones for my painting. 3.) I learned the most from from the textures and tint, shade, and tone warm ups. The tint, shade, and tone helped me a lot with how to make neutral colors and how to blend whites and blacks. The textures helped me with creating textures to add value to my piece. 4.) In my personal opinion the best way to make brown is to mix all three of the primary colors, red, blue, and yellow. Some other ways include red and green, blue and orange, and yellow and purple. 5.) WARM UPMost Helpful Warm-Up: Pen Cubes
The reason I think the pen cubes were the most useful warm up is because I had most trouble drawing with the pen so this warm up help me a lot. It taught me how to use different techniques and create different shades with the pen. It helped me add value to the picture. I used different pen techniques to add texture to the photo and create the features of my dog and the background. i really enjoyed this warm up as it gave me lots of information on how to draw with a pen and it helped me with my drawing skills. Inspired Artist
By: Lily Lovejoy-Johnson For my inspired artist I choose Raku Inoue who creates art unlike any other. Raku creates beautiful animals such as owls and bugs using flower petals, stems, and leaves. Raku uses plants and stems for some of his other pieces, but his signature piece is animals and bugs. Raku is from Montreal and gets most of his inspiration from there. Raku takes advantage the intact plants to highlight the creatures he creates. Raku uses the natural curves of the plant to create more lively animals. I think it is really interesting how he uses flower petals to create the face and body of the animal. I also thought it was so cool how realistic the animals look. I was inspired by this artist because of the way he used the plants and materials to create these beautiful animals. The colors of the animals and how realistic the animals are really draws my attention to the piece. My first initial thought of the piece was that it was CGI but as I took a closer look I saw how it was flowers and plant stems. I also thought it was amazing how intact and healthy the plants were, it really adds to the piece. The perfect placement of the flowers and different nature elements really bring the piece to life. The pictures below are of his newer pieces but his older pieces are just as beautiful. He doesn't have a website but he does have Instagram and Behance Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/reikan_creations/ Behance: https://www.behance.net/rakuinoue |
